Love is not mechanical, cold and mathematical. It is alive and organic, growing in places unexpected, in soil oft neglected, in answer to an affectionate tune, to be heard by only the two.
Tarah and Mike met about six years ago through mutual friends. Tarah’s best friend Jaclyn invited her to hang out with some friends to help check out Jaclyn’s prospective boyfriend Zac. Mike was one of Zac’s friends and happened to be there for the occasion. As Jaclyn and Zac continued to date, Mike and Tarah ended up seeing more of each other, but their relationship still had not developed into a romantic one.
Enter, Jaclyn and Zac’s wedding. Mike and Tarah were, respectively, the Best Man and Maid of Honor, necessitating increased communication. When Zac’s little sister was in need of laughter at the wedding rehearsal Mike and Tarah obliged, sparking an appreciative note for Tarah as she watched the humorous and kind demeanor that Mike demonstrated. A mutual interest had begun to grow as their compatible sense of humor and appreciation for the other person increased. Over the next couple of years and with the distinct advantage of planning an anniversary party for their close friends Jaclyn and Zac, Tarah and Mike continued to deepen their conversations, coming to rely on each other through the tumultuous realities of life. Tarah has come to love Mike especially for the support and self-sacrifice he freely gives, and they both love the rare joy they have found to laugh together even through difficulty.
After the arduous and terribly cold winter St Louis has experienced, I think we are all trying to take advantage of every warm moment of spring we can. So we were very happy that Mike and Tarah wanted to take their engagement photos at the St Louis Botanical Gardens since we have been wanting to spend an afternoon strolling through this beautiful garden anyway.
