Erin & Michael
Winter Downtown St Louis Engagement Photos
Any good Love story must have obstacles, it is in overcoming said hindrances that the strength of our ardor is demonstrated.
Michael met Erin years ago, and was immediately interested in getting to know her better. However, Michael was told that Erin was already dating someone, unbeknownst to Erin, which was false. So Michael resisted the impulse to pursue her and the evening simply passed, becoming an aching memory.
Over the course of the next years these two would have chance encounters at social gatherings and amid the bustle of the City, yet at each turn the timing of their rendezvous would be lacking. Until Michael spent an evening with his Brother (Will), his Brother’s friend (Alicia), and her roommate . . . Who just happened to be Erin.
Michael and Erin instantly connected, obstacles like timing and misrepresentation were blown away. The depth and growth of their relationship since is hard to parse, but suffice it to say, this head over heels couple will be married this coming August of 2014.

What HE loves about HER:
What do I love about Erin…Everything. From her smile to the way she makes me dance when I don’t want to. I love the way she makes me smile when I am trying not to. I love that I want to be a better person with her. I love that I could go on and on about why I love her. It would be much easier to describe the things I don’t love about her…Nothing.
What SHE loves about HIM:
I love that Michael gets me more than I get myself. He makes me make sense, calms me when I’m scared and knows and remembers my heart’s desires. He is so smart and handy – Smart and handy men are so sexy! I love that he loves to explore and try new experiences. I love that we can have the big fancy nights, and even the nights at home snuggled up on a couch, just the two of us. Gosh I can go on and on but I feel like I’m rambling now.
How Michael Proposed:
Erin : “Michael had planned a “surprise” day date on our on anniversary. He wouldn’t let me plan anything, it was his day to spoil me. Our morning started out at a local neighborhood café. We went to Russell’s on Macklind and had breakfast and fancy coffee. After breakfast, Michael took me to our first date spot. We went hiking in Castlewood Park. As we walked up the steep hill, we reminisced on our first date how much that hill sucks. At the top of the hill, we stopped and sat at the bench that overlooks the Meramec River Valley. We sat and talked about how much we love each other. Michael told me he wanted to spend forever with me, and asked me if I would love him forever. I said absolutely and he opened the ring box, it happened so fast! We then walked for a little bit, but didn’t have much time because we had a schedule to stick to. Michael said we had an hour drive to our next destination and had to arrive on time. We head back to the car and Michael turns the wrong way out of the parking lot and heads into the park. I correct him and don’t think anything of his wrong turn. He says “Oh right, I’ll turn around in the next parking lot. .. sorry I wasn’t even thinking” As he drives down the first parking lot road, I see my Oma siting at the pavilion and just lose it – I bawled! Michael had planned a surprise engagement party with our family and closest friends. We were greeted with tears, hugs, warm wishes and a champagne toast. It was a wonderful day!”
