Seven years ago, Rachel’s first day at work. She was just starting at the Humane Society in pet adoptions. She met all of her new coworkers, including Kelly, who worked in the kennels. It might have seemed like a commonplace beginning…
The days and weeks came and went, even a few months going by. One evening everyone from work was gathered for cocktails, for most the night ended at a “reasonable” hour, having work the next morning. This fact never crossed Rachel + Kelly’s minds as they stayed and talked for hours, until they were the last two there. Rachel was amazed at how easy it was to talk to Kelly, and even though she considered herself shy and quiet, the hours flew by. Their night continued, tenuously sharing themselves, strolling downtown under the moonlight.
Seven years later Kelly proposed, reminiscent of their first night, when they fell in love beneath the moonlight.
When Rachel told me about her and her family coming down to St. Louis almost every weekend through the summer to see shows at the Muny, I knew it would be the perfect place for their engagement session.
This beautiful fountain diffused the last golden rays of the setting sun and made for an amazing finish to our session.
Then, Kelly suggested they get in the fountain! I was so excited, what a fun couple! One of my favorite photographs from the day:
