The forecast was a high of 107. It hadn’t rained for weeks, but today there was a 30% chance. The finishing touches took place and anticipation built for the Bride & Groom, soon they would see each other for the first time that day.

The Bridal Party waited inside, enjoying the much appreciated air conditioning, while we picked a spot for the Bride & Groom’s “First Look”. A shaded alcove embraced by the arching branches of two decorative trees made for an intimate backdrop as Matthew waited quietly for his wife-to-be. When Leah entered the tableau, Matthew’s eyes spoke volume upon adoring volume, there was nothing save for he and his Bride. Amid the blur of the day, these few quiet moments to themselves seemed to strengthen and brighten them, drawing on each other’s strength for their unforgettable day.

The event continued and somehow the heat outside increased. We were constantly running outside to snap a few photos and then immediately running inside to cool off and touch up makeup. Night eventually fell, dancing was going down, as was the temperature, and finally the rain came.

We had a great time sharing the day with Matthew and Leah, their family, and their Bridal party. Despite the heat.
